Sagar Sports Spectacle 2024

The Sagar Sports Spectacle started with great zeal and vigour on the grounds of Sagar Public School, Katara Extension. A three-day event starting from November 27, 2024, where students from schools across Bhopal participated in Open speed Skating competition and Futsal competition and saw a turnout of 590 students in Skating and 14 teams in Futsal.\r\nOn its inaugural day, the event showcased athletic excellence, uniting schools and students under the banner of healthy competition and team spirit. \r\nThe young (male) sports prodigies competed under age categories 4 to 14 for tenacity, quads and inline skating categories whereas the school teams competed in the Futsal field for the ultimate showdown.\r\nThe school will witness the finale of Futsal tournament as well as girls' open speed skating competition. The event will culminate by recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements of the participants.

Synergia- Confluence of Cultures

Sagar Public School, Katara Extension, dazzled an audience of dignitaries, parents, and esteemed guests at its Senior Annual Function, titled Synergia: The Confluence of Cultures on November 14, 2024. The evening, a magnificent fusion of history, mythology, and cultural heritage, highlighted the talent, creativity, and dedication of Sagarites.\r\nThe Chief Guest, Professor Lopamudra Dewan, who leads the Center for Teaching and Learning at IIM Bangalore, and the Guest of Honour, Brigadier Anil Das graced the function. \r\nEach performance exemplified the essence of Synergia, celebrating the unity and diversity of world cultures. The “Musical Mosaic” enthralled the audience with its eclectic blend of classical and contemporary art forms. The Greek Odyssey presented the tale of Icarus, conveying a timeless message on the balance between ambition and wisdom.\r\nThe dramatic presentation of Sentinel of Asgard: The Norse Chronicles, narrated with intensity conveyed the audience that, “A true warrior stands as a shield, not for conquest but for compassion,” This was followed by The Feather’s Measure: Balance of the Nile, where Ma’at, the Egyptian goddess of truth and balance, inspired the audience to value integrity and fairness. The highlight of the evening was the performance of Karan: Sangharsh Ki Anant Yatra, a moving portrayal of Karna's honour and resilience. The grand finale, celebrated the ideals of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—“The world is one family”—brought to life through choreography and verse, enveloping the audience in the spirit of universal kinship. \r\nThe Principal, Ms. Prachi Varma, took the stage to present the Annual Report, a testament to the school’s academic achievements, extracurricular milestones, and cultural growth, which left parents and guests brimming with pride.\r\nThe evening concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Ms. Deepika Raj Bhagat, who acknowledged the dedication of students, teachers, and parents, making the event a grand success. Fantasia - Flights of Imagination Junior Annual Function

Sagar Public School Katara Extension unfurled its 4th annual function on November 13, 2024, with a dazzling two-day celebration that swept audiences into worlds of wonder and imagination. With the theme Fantasia - Flights of Imagination, the first day was a magical testament to the creativity and artistry of over 700 students, underscoring the school’s unwavering commitment to academic and cultural brilliance.\r\nThe event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest Dr. Rahul Mukhopadhyay from Azim Premji University, who added a touch of grandeur to the evening. What followed was a tapestry of vibrant performances, where students brought to life beloved tales of Snow White, Gulliver’s Travels, Tenali Raman, and Aladdin. Each portrayal was a symphony of drama and dance, breathing vitality into timeless virtues: the gentle compassion in Snow White, the empathetic wisdom in Gulliver’s Travels, the wit and problem-solving flair of Tenali Raman, and the enduring loyalty found in Aladdin. Together, these stories wove powerful messages that resonate deeply with today’s world.\r\nIn her address, Principal, Ms. Prachi Varma eloquently presented the school’s annual report, celebrating achievements across academics, sports, and cultural spheres, while emphasizing the institution’s dedication to nurturing creativity, building skills, and fostering character in every Sagarite. The day’s celebrations culminated in a heartfelt vote of thanks by Headmistress Rupinder Arora, with the audience rising for a stirring rendition of the National Anthem.

A Tribute to Student Excellence In an atmosphere filled with pride and joy, the First Celestial Awards for the session 2024-25 shone brightly, celebrating the remarkable contributions of students. This prestigious recognition honoured the outstanding attributes of students from Classes I to XII across four illustrious categories: Best Turn Out, Most Regular, The Enthusiast, and Best Communicator. Each award was not just a mere token, but a gleaming symbol of their perseverance, discipline, and relentless pursuit of excellence. With certificates and badges in hand, these students stood tall, a testament to their dedication, and an inspiration to their peers that the path to greatness is paved with determination and grace.

The theme, " *Safari Soiree,"* focused on raising awareness about endangered species, highlighting the need to protect them from the threats of extinction due to environmental changes and human activities. The event featured a delightful array of performances, from joyful songs spreading positivity to creative skits centered on environmental conservation. Graced by the presence of Chief Guest Ms. Dyutima Sharma, Clinical Psychologist, the celebration was a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to safeguard nature. The evening concluded with an inspiring presentation on human values, leaving the audience with lasting memories of this vibrant and meaningful celebration.

Teachers Day Celebration

"A teacher affects eternity; they can never tell where their influence stops." Teacher's Day was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and joy, honoring the dedication and commitment of our esteemed teachers. The event began with a warm and heartfelt welcome to all the educators, setting the tone for a memorable celebration. The assembly featured moving speeches, a soulful musical tribute, and a series of cultural performances, each reflecting the deep respect and admiration students hold for their mentors. The students’ performances were a beautiful expression of their gratitude, showcasing their appreciation in the most creative and heartfelt ways. The day was not only a celebration of the bond between students and teachers but also a reminder of the significant impact that teachers have in shaping young minds. National Sports Day

The National Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm today, August 29, 2024 at Sagar Public School, Katara Extension to commemorate the birth anniversary of Hockey Legend Major Dhyanchand. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr Aamir Ahmed, an International Hockey player, posted in the Department of Public Instruction. The event began with an inspiring address by Madam Principal, emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. The students showcased their talents with captivating performances in judo, zumba, and yoga, demonstrating their physical prowess and dedication to fitness. The deserving students were felicitated with scholarships (cash prizes) for their outstanding performances in CBSE competitions and SGFI Competitions held during the academic session 2023-24. The Chief Guest further motivated the students, encouraging them to pursue excellence in both academics and athletics. The day concluded with cheers and applause, leaving everyone inspired and eager for the next sports season. Janamashtami Celebration

The auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at Sagar Public School, Katara Extension. The students of Classes I-III showcased their talent and devotion through a mesmerizing portrayal of Krishna Janam, followed by a vibrant dance performance on his baal leela. The programme commenced with a soulful group song, which set the tone for the festivities. The students then enacted the birth of Lord Krishna, depicting the divine moments with precision and dedication. The highlight of the event was the 'Matki Fod' ceremony, where students broke earthen pots filled with butter, symbolizing Krishna's mischievous antics. The excitement was palpable as the students cheered and chanted "Hare Krishna Hare Rama" during the ceremony. The celebration culminated with a grand Maha Aarti, where the students and teachers came together to offer prayers and gratitude to Lord Krishna. The auditorium resonated with devotional songs and chants, creating a spiritual ambiance. The event was graced by the presence of our esteemed Director,Dubey sir, Principal, Vice Principal, and teachers, who encouraged and appreciated the students' efforts. स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह

"चलो फिर से खुद को जगाएं, स्वतंत्रता के पर्व को उत्साह से मनाएं..." जिस ओर देखो पूरा प्रांगण तिरंगे के रंग से आच्छादित था। रंगीन झंडियां और तिरंगा लहरा लहरा कर स्वतंत्रता दिवस के संदेश को हवा में बिखेर रहा था। बच्चों का उत्साह हवाओं से ज़्यादा वातावरण को मधुमय बना रहा था। सफेद वस्त्रों और तिरंगे के रंगों से सजे परिधान पहने बच्चे और शिक्षक पूरे माहौल को जोश से भर रहे थे। देशभक्ति गीतों ने युवाओं के जोश को दुगना कर दिया था। यह दृश्य था सागर पब्लिक स्कूल कटारा एक्सटेंशन के स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह का। यह बात सत्य भी है कि स्वतंत्रता दिवस के उत्सव का स्वाभाविक आनंद केवल विद्यालय में दिखाई पड़ता है। सागर पब्लिक स्कूल कटारा एक्सटेंशन का पूरा प्रांगण मानो खुशियों और उत्साह से सराबोर था। सबसे पहले प्रधानाचार्य सुश्री प्राची वर्मा ने ध्वजारोहण किया और परेड की सलामी ली। प्रधानाचार्य महोदया ने अपने उद्बोधन में स्वतंत्रता दिवस की बधाई देते हुए इसके महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला। कार्यक्रम के अगले चरण में हेड बॉय धनंजय कुमार ने स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त करने के लिए किए गए बलिदानियों के संघर्ष से स्वतंत्रता के अमृत महोत्सव तक की भारत की उपलब्धियों को याद किया। युवा कवि सूर्यांश झा उदित ने अपनी स्वरचित देशभक्तिपूर्ण कविता से युवाओं में जोश जगाया। साथ ही नृत्य के माध्यम से भारत की गौरवमयी इतिहास की झाँकी प्रस्तुत की गई।इसके बाद विद्यालय के विद्यार्थियों ने देशभक्ति गीत और नृत्य से माहौल में उमंग भर दिया। कार्यक्रम के अंत में कल्चरल सेक्रेटरी संचिता ठाकुर ने सभी का धन्यवाद करते हुए, इस जज्बे को हमेशा बनाए रखने पर ज़ोर दिया। मिष्ठान्न वितरण के साथ कार्यक्रम का समापन हुआ।

PTM II

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out by both parents and teachers." On August 10, 2024, Sagar Public School, Katara Extension, hosted II Parents Teachers Meet for the session 2024-25. This gathering provided a valuable opportunity for parents to engage with class teachers, subject teachers, and activity instructors, fostering a deeper understanding of their child's academic journey. Through discussions focused on the latest assessment results, parents gained insights into their child's progress and areas that require attention. The event was met with appreciation from parents, who recognized the school's dedication to holistic development through various activities and initiatives that strengthen the school-parent connection. The advanced sports program, designed to nurture sportsmanship and physical fitness in students, was particularly praised. ASPIRE Session by Dr. Mohammad Athar

‘Physical evidence cannot be intimidated, it does not forget It sits there and waits to be detected, preserved, evaluated and explained’ To aware our young Sagarites regarding the advancements and Career aspects in the field of Forensic Science an ASPIRE Session was conducted for Senior students of Sagar Public School,Katara Extension,Bhopal on the Topic: Forensic Science headed by Dr. Mohammad Athar, Assistant professor at Institute of Excellence at Higher Education, IEHE Bhopal. Sir shared his valuable experiences with the young minds and made them aware about the courses and career paths available in the vast field of Forensic Science and Criminology. Inter School Open Tennis Tournament

The Inter-School Open Tennis Tournament 2024-25, hosted by Sagar Public School, Katara Extension, commenced with remarkable splendour. The ceremony featured the distinguished presence of the Chief Guest Mr. J. S Mathur, retired Secretary Govt. of India and Ex member Real Estate Appellate Tribunal Bhopal, along with Mr. Prachit Kumar Shukla Chief Coach in the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh. The event began with the symbolic lighting of the lamp, representing enlightenment and unity. Esteemed participating schools, including The Sanskar Valley School, Bal Bhawan Public School, Sharda Vidya Mandir, Sage International School, Delhi Public Schools, St. Raphael Co-ed School, Billabong International School, Kamla Nehru School, and Sagar Public Schools from various locations, were warmly welcomed. A captivating choir performance and inspiring addresses highlighted the spirit of the tournament. Sports Captain Siddhant Singh Solanki administered the oath, reinforcing the values of fair play. The three-day tournament, till August 3, will see an exciting series of matches on the tennis courts immersing everyone in the competitive spirit of the game.
